Asia-Pacific Hub

The Open Mapping Hub - Asia Pacific (AP Hub) was established in early 2021 to advance the open mapping movement in the Asia-Pacific region. The hub engages open mapping organizations and communities in the region to facilitate the exchange of ideas and expertise across 25 countries in the region. We also provide financial and technical support to massively scale local edits on OpenStreetMap (OSM). By prioritizing local mapping organizations and communities, facilitating knowledge exchange, distributing funding, and providing training and support, we are focusing efforts to work with local organizations and communities to drive high-quality, ethical, local data use cases.

Eastern & Southern Africa Hub

The Open Mapping Hub - Eastern and Southern Africa (ESA) works with organizations and communities across 23 countries in creating and updating free, editable and shareable open map data in OpenStreetMap. We believe that open map data is universal and contributes to identifying problems, monitoring change, managing and responding to events, forecasting, setting priorities and understanding humanitarian and development trends. We envision a future where all people in Eastern and Southern Africa have the opportunity to contribute to and use open mapping processes and open data in their everyday lives.

Latin America and the Caribbean Hub

The Open Mapping Hub - Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) was established in 2023 with the intention to locate actions advancing social impact mapping practices among diverse groups. We believe that social impact mapping can be a catalyst for social and economic change in the LAC region. Mapping isn’t solely about gathering data and plotting it on a map; it’s a collaborative journey involving local communities in every step, granting everyone the opportunity to access and contribute to the map. It’s about co-designing - deciding what and how to map, for what purpose, where and when, and with whom.
